I've been using a Cat's Meow for several years now. No complaints here. It's a great bag, I'm sure you'll be pleased with it, Ken.

The site i just saw on the tad pole list it at 4pounds 15oz packed weight so really they are the same. You can get the Kelty for around $80 I think so if the North Face one is anywhere around that I would go for it for it unless you looking to go lightweight.

what!? I paid $130 for that. Arent you glad for the deal? hehe
Im glad to see you enjoy the cricket.
The only difference I see on these 2 is that the North Face tent has open sleeves which allows for more ventilation around the fly. Also the Easton 8mm poles are just a hare stronger than the crickets. not a big deal anyway

Yeah it works great for the time being until I can get one of those tarp-tents.

dont forget to look at the GoLite Trig, its a worthy shelter as well. 2-11oz as I carry it. Its got way more features than the Tarptent, and has a better entry door, IMO.
BUT- the Cloudburst is a thing of beauty is it not? Wink

That tells me a lot too, that you're still happy with it after several years. How many things can you say that about these days?

I own a tadpole--it is an old one but it has held up well. Ditch the stuff sack and the stakes. Mine really is 4 pounds even.

I've had a Cat's Meow for 4 years now. My only complaint about it is that it's not quite up to its 20-degree rating (apparently TNF has a reputation for overrating the warmth of their bags). I'd say 25 or 30 would be a bit more accurate. Now, whenever it's going to be less than 25 or so, I bring a liner. Otherwise, though it's great. The hood and the neck baffles are extremely comfortable.
