What: Shuttle hike from Canyon Lake to 1st Water
When: Sunday Jan 12 2014. Meet at Superstitions Mountains Museum @ 8:00 am to set up car shuttle.
Distance: 7.3 miles ( definitely less than 8 miles... to a good beer n burger!)
Accumulated Elevation Gain: 1589 ft -- couple of good uphills!
This not a easy trail -- generally rocky trail with rolling terrain...so plan accordingly ....
Dogs not recommended due to to close brushes with pointy pokey things.

If I have not hiked with you before -- Let's talk before you sign up -- PM me.

Angela, If I make it as far as your place, would you have room in Tonto for me? It is always nice to have the company on the trip as well as on the trail.
We did this one before, right? It sounds familiar.

I can't really make that date in Feb!
I am looking forward to January though. I was sort of hoping for Canyon Lake to First Water. My foot and I would rather get the big hill out of the way FIRST. What's your thought on that? |

Let me see if I can flop the hike ...I am OK either way.

either is fine though it's better views going to Canyon Lake from First Water. Anyway, doesn't matter as I'm along for the camaraderie as I just did this hike in Nov.
Linda, you can meet at my house at 6:45AM, will be stopping by Q-T before heading out. Takes about an hour to get to the Museum.
Haven't heard from Mia yet and Ambika, are you contacting Jenaya or should I? _________________ Angela from N Phoenix |

will do.
oh and one other thing.... thot of this while driving to pick up lunch. There are two hills on the Cany to First Water: Boulder and Second Water Hill where the other way there is only one hill; it ain't easy but you get a nice recovery and great views once you're up. _________________ Angela from N Phoenix |

Yes -- you are correct -- got mixed up planning too many hikes at the same time
I have now fixed that in the header _________________ Photos: http://www.pbase.com/desertgirl/galleries

We will set up shuttle so that those that want to keep pace can finish the hike and go home -- We can take our time to head back to TH at the pace your foot allows you to go .... _________________ Photos: http://www.pbase.com/desertgirl/galleries
