Things are kinda crazy busy, will keep you posted.... _________________ The world is older and bigger than we are. This is a hard truth for some folks to swallow. —EDWARD ABBEY |

Friday is Kristen's 4th birthday so I won't be coming up until Saturday. Do we have directions to where you are camping yet? This will be so wonderful to all get together for a great celebration weekend! We're camping at and old ranch house in a place called Henderson Flat -
Directions -
GETTING THERE -
From Deer Valley in north Phoenix, to the trailhead is a 4-hour drive. Be prepared and top off your gas in Cottonwood. Check your tire pressure and bring extra water just in case.
Drive north on I-17. Take 260 west out of Camp Verde and head on up to Jerome.
Go through Jerome until you get to the fire station.
The fire station is about 5 minutes into town on the north end of town, mid way up through town. Take the road to the right of the fire station north past the Gold King Mine Museum.
This is the Perkinsville Road.
Stay to the main road through passes and curves for 16.2 miles to the Perkinsville Bridge at the Verde River.
Cross the bridge and go left, in a few minutes you will cross the train tracks.
Cross over the train tracks and continue northward.
At 3 miles from the bridge you will pass FR 181 on your right. (This is the road to Henderson Flat.)
Take FR 181 and stay on it for about 7.5 miles. You will see the old ranch house on the left, this is also the trailhead for Trail 61.
Saturday we will probably go on another 5 miles to the end of 181 and hike from there depending upon when the Saturday people will be showing up.
There are plenty of camping spots around the ranch house but no water.

I look forward to seeing everyone Saturday afternoon. I think that Jamie will be coming too. Should we bring something for a pot luck? _________________ The world is older and bigger than we are. This is a hard truth for some folks to swallow. —EDWARD ABBEY |

I'm planning on coming in on Fri. Asked and got the day off.
Will go out and re-check the road conditions. Don't think I've ever been on this route, wondering if vehicle will have high enough clearance. Last time going into Sycamore the road I went in was kinda iffy for me, but it made it. Todd sent you an email with a couple of questions.
Do you know yet what youir plans are for going (time). Any chance I could follow someone in? _________________ Wanderingsoul (Michelle)

Michelle, I emailed you back.
Two wheel drive with decent clearance will get you to where we're heading.
We're planning on leaving Peoria around 10:00 AM Friday if folks want to meet us along the way and caravan.
How about food? Potluck anyone?

got your email Todd. Thanks
Not sure if y'all are interested in caravaning, or not. Sent you another email about that. Thought maybe that Park n Ride on I-17 & Bell or at the Starbucks we've met at before. Just don't remember how to get to the Starbucks. If that one works and is better, if you can give me directions, I could go there.
Either way doesn't really matter, sounds like I should be able to get to, on the road in.
At this time, I'll plan for my own eats, but if y'all decide to potluck, I'll think of something simple quick if need be.
Weather so far looks pretty good and should be a nice weekend.
Sorry you won't be joining Ambika, but have fun with the Hummer's. I'm sure you'll get some wonderful pics. those in my back yard seem to be at bay right now and avoiding Fairy Dusters... couldn't be 2 got snagged and eaten, could it? EEEK ! _________________ Wanderingsoul (Michelle)
