It's been an exceptionally brutal summer around the valley for me this year. I'm chomping at the bit to check out some cooler climes and get out overnight.
I'd like to know if there is any interest in doing the Houston Brothers trail to Aspen Springs this weekend. This would be in preparation for a possible 'full cabin loop' over Labor Day weekend.
Very minimal elevation gain with a very nice campsite at the cabin. About 4 miles each way. Starting at the 300 Rd trailhead and ending back at the same on Sunday. This will be an overnight backpack from Sat morning to Sun about mid-day.
Let me know if anyone is interested, and I will post a full event entry.
Thanks |

You "might" or "are"?
Sorry you can't make it, Diane. Maybe next time?
Scott, Aspen Springs a little ways off of the actual loop, but will keep an eye out for you guys. |

I would go but Diane is on call and our new puppy will be recouperating from surgery so I'd best stay home.

Tom,
A few of us'll be @ Rimside Grill about 10:30-11 AM Sat.
Our intention was to hike W. Webber & Turkey on Sat. afternoon (kinda scouting for a 'fall colors' hike later in the year), and then car-camp on the Rim somewhere Sat. night. - maybe on Milk Ranch?
I'll be in Pine til Tues. AM, so if you are staying up a bit, I'd be available for some 'splorin' on Sun. +/or Mon. - If your plans change, you are welcome to join us on the W.W./Turkey hike.
We play volleyball on Monday nights @ Rimside about 6 - it's a lot of fun, come on by. _________________ "They that can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety."

I am interested but unable to go this weekend. Maintenance Outage on Sat nite and implementation Sun morning. Wished I could go, it would have been really nice to get away and out of Heat.
Trish and I were in this area a couple of years ago and we didn't get to do all we wanted We said we would get back there again, it was nice hiking and a beautiful area. Haven't gotten back there
I'll guess I'll have to keep an eye open if anything possibly shakes out for Labor Day. I'm supposed to have that weekend free _________________ Wanderingsoul (Michelle)

Wish I could say a definite YES to this since I love the area and haven't been out all summer! But I'm the manager on call this weekend If I can possibly bribe someone to cover for me I may show up but come in from FR 95 and Pinchot Cabin. Will know tomorrow...... _________________ ~~~Trish~~~
