Well as it ends up, me and Tracy weren't so lucky this time around. I came down with some kind of stomach illness that we think was food poisoning or the like on X-mas eve later on in the evening.
I was pretty much down and out for X-mas and most of the day after. Neutral

We thought about chancing it and head down to IG on Sat to meet up, but saw that the weather wasn't going to be too inviting for camping out, so opted to opt-out. I'm kind of glad now that we did, but not glad at the same time.

Sorry Ambika and Guru. We were looking forward to the trip. It was a good thing that we didn't push it though, I'm thinking that I would have been pretty uncomfortable.

There's always next year I guess. Hmmph. Hope you had a good time.

Sorry that you could not join us in the Cyn. Hope you are feeling better now and all geared up for the upcomging new year celebrations and hike. It was pretty hiking weather. Clear blue skies (not very amenable for pictures...but good for hiking), tons of snow on the ground - we had a white XMAS - becoming a tradition for the 2 of us. T'was very cold at IG - below 20F - we managed to bum an extra and abandoned sleeping bag from the Ranger - the extra bag helped us stay more than toasty in the tent. Had a very nice and relaxing time Very Happy

Sunset was a major dud - nothing interesting happened. No clouds, no great light Confused It just was done. Plateau Point does have potential for great photos (one of the better 360 views!) but it was not to happen this time. So it will go onto the do-over list!

Wonderful photos. I guess if you're going to be cold, you might as well make the most of it and get some great shots! Well done I'd say.

Awesome photo's Ambika, I just love that place in snow. So peaceful and empty in winter for the most part as well.

Your pictures were gorgeous, of course! Did you guys wear Yak-Traks for hiking in the snow?
