Did anyone else attend the Rockfest at the Tempe Diable Stadium this w/e?? I took my two boys. We had fun... and it was interesting too. The weather was perfect as it was mainly outdoors. My youngest son bought some rocks and a piece of petrified candy wood from Holbrook. All in all, a good family time. Just wondering if anyone else went.

The Tucson Gem and Mineral Show is coming up if rocks are what rock your boat. One of the world's biggies.

Hhmmm, I don't know that I would drive all the way down to Tucson just for the show, but if I could go for the whole w/e and do some hiking too, then it would be cool. Thanks for the info, Shawn.

Check out the Arizona Mineral Museum at 1400 W. Washington in Phoenix. If you are heading North from Apache Junction on the Apache Trail, stop by the Bluebird Mine gift shop, nice rock samples for sale. Alao take note of the old newspaper articles.
