I was planning on hiking in the South Mountain area Sunday and was curious if anyone wanted to join me? Smile Just thought I would do a couple trails.

Only supposed to be 103 Sunday, so should be a brisk morning up there Wink

Brian and I are heading to CA for the weekend, but as the others have said, see if you can make one of the group hikes coming up in the fall. This time of year, most of us in the Valley are migrating north each weekend.

You'll definitely find this group very welcoming and easy to get along with.

Oh Jessica, I am sorry but this is a tough weekend to try and put together a hike as a good part of us are going up to Flag to do some volunteer work at Hart Prarie, the Nature Conservancy up there. Please do not take this as a snub as we are trying to make this a yearly thing and it has been in the works since last year. Hang in there and come to some of the hikes already set up or set up more hikes, you will eventually get to start meeting every one here. We are a good bunch but we are also a busy bunch!

Jessica,
Thanks for the invite.!!!. Smile
I don't hike much in the valley in the summer.
Us old farts tend to shrivel up and wither away in the heat with exertion.
Would love to go when the weather is a little cooler.
I also have an odd schedule. Next cool slot for me Sept 5-17.

If you are looking for hikes up north ...
Have you checked out http://hikearizona.com yet?
Lots of trip reports and info there. and a lot of the same people are here.

If you are interested in learning to climb, a couple of us are going to take the AMC climbing class this fall. I'm pretty sure that the dates are firm now. Oct 13-24.

With climbing the weekends of Oct 17-18 & 24
Hope this helps

I would definately be intersted in the climbing class! yes I have checked out hikearizona but there is a person there who is not fond of me so I opted out of that site. I am guessing sign up is needed for the class? You all are great! I appreciated the responses! Very Happy
