well that's the least I could do considering it's your hike Laughing

sooooo 20 of the 80 slots for that day are already gone and we have missed the online chances of obtaining a permit secured in advance........damage!

Our only choice is to show up at early:30 to get in line Saturday for a Sunday permit.........that'll mean leaving Page very early in the morning....no screwing around, probably no lovely hotel buffet, no lake photos.........just drive...........okay........who drives the fastest?

I might have that last slot taken.

I suppose I could take my Honda, and get up to Kanab or maybe even Springdale Thursday night, then zoom into Zion early..... cyborg

Did we decide that doing The Subway on Sunday would work best? I don't think you can get permits for Sunday until the day before.....so EARLY saturday someone would need to be in line about an hour before they open. Will that work?

Yep, you're right. I was thinking that Friday was the holiday, but it is indeed Monday, so Sunday would be the day of the hike. Early Saturday WOULD be the time to be there....

Are you considering getting a room/rooms in Springdale like we did for the narrows hike?

Or we could camp.

This is where we stayed last time. http://www.bumbleberry.com/ This was a good location when we needed to catch the early morning shuttle for The Narrows. Not sure it is necessary to be that close or pay that much this time.
Here are some in the 40-50 price range. If 4 of us can split that would be awesome! We would probably need 3-4 rooms.

I might have to ask someone else to reserve a room. Money is tight here until my first paycheck Aug 27th.

We'll have to do our own shuttle, leaving some vehicles at the take out point, and driving up to the entrance in the others. Therefore it isn't important (like you said) where we stay. It would still be good to leave early. Last time the group met at the take out point at 7:00 AM, and were finished around 3:30 or 4:00. I'm guessing that we may want to spend a little more time taking pictures...

I'm ok with camping or getting a room(s)...

Is there camping options at the take out or entrance area ?

I don't think so. There wasn't any sign of anyone camped there a couple weeks ago. There were rangers at both trailheads, monitoring the people going in and out, making sure that they had the proper permits...

I've camped in the campground, it's doable and 16 dollars a night.

Nice pictures Hank... Who would have thought you'd see a frog? And the cooling off pic was pretty different for sure, but looked refreshing.

Looks like a place I'd like, I'll have to put this one on my list
