How about this for late October?
Short loop is ~9 miles, longer is ~12 with some route finding requirements.

The date is an issue, guess we can push it to November. _________________ The bear went over the mountain to see what he could see. |

Hello all....First post here......This looks as if it's in my neighborhood...If I can get the weekend off....Count me in..
Of course I may have to go hike it before hand just to check it out... _________________ Why in the world would anyone drink blended whiskey ? |

I'm new to Arizona Hikers. I would love to make this hike in October. Are their specific dates t put on the calendar? I'm a pretty new hiker. If anyone has any input on gear, etc... I would greatly appreciate it.
How do I get the specifics since this is all new to me?
Thanks

Hey Michelle, welcome to the site. I see you are a teacher, I taught in Black Canyon City, so we probably shared some kids. I am not there anymore.
For dayhikes, just get a backpack that fits and holds water with a bladder, snacks, and lunch, poncho, sunscreen, and a small first aid kit. Others will probably chime in. THe people on this site are very informative! Have fun! _________________ Anne
