I'm thinking of doing this next Sunday, April 12. Anyone want to come along? ~16 miles, mostly down hill, will plan an early start.

PM me if interested.

Can I only do the 12.5 miles? I could park my car at that ending point, and ride with someone to the beginning point? Is that possible?

Works for me, it's not far out of the way setting up the shuttle.

I won't be going on this one after all. I didn't realize when the post first started that it was Easter. Have fun! I think I will be a shorter hike later in the afternoon.

Ok, I will join in on the fun! (unless something weird happens to me, which usually sometimes does) I will park at the Cross F trailhead and ride with someone to beginning. If anyone wants to do the same with me, no problem! I will see you at Wendy's at 7 a.m. Thanks!

I would go, but I am still pulling New Mexico Locust thorns out of my thighs and private parts from passage #23.

Oh yes, these trails are very clean. Minor slowing will occur as you hike the stream bed on the last half mile of the Thicket Srping trail and again about 1.5 miles into the Little Saddle mountain trail where there might be some minor bushwhacking involved if no one has cleared the trail over growth since I was there. My guess is that 95 percent of the total mileage is totally clean trail and a lot of that would be a trail runners delight.

After the fire these trails have become my favorite hiking area in the Mazatzals and I highly recommend them. There are 5 or 6 different hikes from Mt. Peeley, Mormon Grove and Cross F trialheads described on HAZ and I highly recommend all of them.

After about a mile on the Little Saddle Mountain trail be aware there is a left turn off the old closed road you are hiking on. It would be easy to miss that one and continue down the road. Hopefully someone has put better cairns or markers there.

I think I am still on -- I am awaiting a PM back fromn George on meeting up and driving out to Beeline /Shea meeting point.

If I do not hear back from him then I am planning on being there at 7:00 am.

I just got off the phone with Ambika. We're meeting in the morning and will be at the Wendy's ready to leave there at 7a.

Got a call this morning from George. I guess Shawn put his truck into a ditch on the way to the start trailhead... Major bummer.
The roads sound like they're pretty mucky-muck from the rains yesterday.

They have a tow truck on the way, and everyone is safe. Good thing...

I'm sure they will all expound with the details later.

I am home. We are fine, we just cut the trail to 6 miles.
