Well, I was thinking of doing Lower Barks Canyon again to see how much water is there now. Also considering Upper First Water Creek, Boulder Canyon, or LaBarge Canyon from Canyon Lake. I'm a little worried about the condition of Peralta Rd. to the TH after all that rain - I don't really like taking that road in my little car even when it's not washed out!

I've got a 4x4 (actually all-wheel drive) little Blazer that has seen better days, but will do the trick if you're up for it. I've been down that (rattly) Peralta many times now. The trip from Canyon Lake would be pretty neat. La Barge was pretty dry the last time I was there with everyone about a month ago. I'll bet it's flowing pretty good now.

Not sure what Peralta would show unless the hike was a long one. First Water to Garden Valley would be a good choice too.

Let me know. I'm itching to get out. Hiking

The hike I was refering to from Peralta is Lower Barks Canyon - it's a really beautiful little hike and last time I was there about a month ago there were quite a few pools of water even after our long drought. Could be really nice now.

I agree, LaBarge would be good - and I've really been wanting to check out "the narrows" which is in LaBarge Canyon about 1.5 miles south of the Boulder Canyon Trail.

The only thing is, I have to work until midnight tonight so I'm not looking for an early start. If you want to go out later in the morning (10am or so) that'd be great.

I left you a PM earlier. Let me work on getting coverage for noon tomorrow. I would rather start a bit later anyways. Take your pick of starting point.

Just an FYI: We went to the Massacre Grounds yesterday hoping to see the falls running... no such luck. The rocks were wet but no running water.
