I bought one today.
I am a small time backpacker doing about 2 per year, maybe 3 in a busy year. I have a Granite Gear Vapor Trail for 6 years. It is well worn with a few tears.
The new guy is roomy, competent, lightweight (3 lbs 2 oz) and inexpensive at $149. It is a 2009 Backpacker Magazine editors choice (April 2009 issue). That means at least some experienced backpackers like it.
I won't get a chance to test drive it until April but I am optimistic. It feels good. _________________ Become a skilled GPS user and it will set you free! |

Ain't it funny - the gear thing. I have a 1x used pack, and I found myself eyeing that pack too. It doesn't have that metal frame support running right down the middle of your back like the old UL model does it?
Congrats and enjoy the light fast pack. _________________ Douglas

DAB, here is the description.
Twin aluminum tubular stays and a precurved, perforated HDPE framesheet maximize structure and minimize weight
Guess you get 2 instead of 1.

Shawn, that is a nice looking pack. I am going to continue to use my Granite Gear Ozone. I like it so far. I haven't used it much, but when I have, I have been happy! _________________ Anne
