I don't drink coffee at home...never have, but when I'm on the road in the motorhome or at a hotel where there's coffee in the room I almost always have a morning cup....loaded with sugar and cream or cream sub. Like green tea for hiking which, I guess, has small amount of caffeine. _________________ John Richardson and Richie Rich, El Perro de Playero

I start every morning with my coffee with flavored creamer! I am spoiled! But I do regret it sometimes after I have gotten on the trail and my hampster sized bladder starts begging me to stop! _________________ ~~~Diane~~~

Not a chance. Sugar and caffine are to be avoided on a hike day. A Snickers bar being the only plausible exception. They give me a great burst of energy, but then I just end up having a crash later.
I find that if I avoid sugar and caffine when I'm hiking or exercising, my energy level stays more consistent for longer. I also feel less hungry. _________________ "Only small minds want always to be right."

I like to prehydrate before a hike. Coffee when brewed properly is 98% water. I never drink anything with caffeine during a hike, however. _________________ [/size] |

That's like asking "Oxygen before a hike?".... _________________ -Colin

Mmmm...Venti latte sounds pretty good to me, no need for the extra shots, and if you'd prefer I could finish it before we it Bluff Springs! _________________ ~Tracy
