Depends on the month! My October thru April average is much higher than my May thru September. |

A minimum of 20....lately it's been more like 25-30. Since I'm out every weekend, it adds up fast. _________________ ~~~Trish~~~

I have the hiking fever.
I usually average 25+ miles a month,
but last month I did that in one week!
Anymore, the short hikes don't interest me as much as the
6+ mile hikes.
Which probably would be another good poll,
what distance do you like for a hike.

I am on a dry spell and its killing me. I feel like i'm drowning.
I havent done anything since the superstition ridgeline. This is partly cuz my stupid job is schedualing me to work 6 days a week. _________________ Mountains are there to be climbed!

I usually do this part of the mid-state trail right behind my house at least once or twice a month and that section is about 6-7 miles. All the other times I train by hiking straight up the mountian which is right behind my house also and has about a 1000 ft incline and hike that at least once a week. No idea how many miles that is round trip cause I just bush whack my way to the top and bottom. So my range is probably in the 10 to 19. _________________ "IRONMAN" cometh, hiketh, destroyeth |

I've tried to average two hikes a week plus two major hikes per month all this year. So I've gotten into the bottom of the "Heat" range.
But since AZHeat is blessed with more days off (there should be a law, Kent) than almost anybody else on the planet, I don't think any of us are in danger of invading the upper elevations of the "Heat" range, anytime soon. _________________ What a magnificent time to LIVE! - Everett Ruess.

Up until October I was doing probably somewhere in the 20+ mile range per month if you don't count trail runs. Since I've been back from Oregon where I did approx 60 in 3 days, I haven't logged a single mile. Things have been a little crazy in my life |

I hike/walk/run 7 days/week South Mtn, but I dont' know if that counts, because it's a daily exercise walk/run/whatever-I'm-up-to-thing. If we count that alone, that's prob 60+ miles/mth (I'm not sure how far-I go about 1 hr/day) plus backpack trips and hikes, which actually isn't usually more than another 20miles/mth, lately. |

I think I qualify for Azheat status...not only do I normally hike with him on weekend jaunts but I put in 10-12 miles a day of fast walking as a meter reader for the city...not much elevation gain but plenty of route finding and even a little bushwhacking _________________ And this our life, exempt from public haunt,

I would love to be able to move and walk all day. I hurry up and drive. Sit. Hurry up and drive. Sit. BUT, I will no longer be working weekends. Giving me back my 10 plus mile weekends, hiking or backpacking. Mary |
