Didn't we just do this?

The American Cancer Society is setting up for the 2009 Climb to Conquer. We had a good time last year (seems like that was just last week?) so why not go again. About a 5 mile walk up the road to the top, 2.5 miles down the back way.

Pooches welcome!

Lunch at The Farm afterwards.

Any great ideas for T-Shirt art? Gotta be black and white, simple is better than complicated.

Register, donate and order t-shirt size online. I'll pick up the Tshirts and bring them to the event or get them to you before hand.

No pressure Suz, jdahling or oliverr99, BUT the T-shirt deadline is approaching and if you fall off the fence in the right direction, we'll have the ten participants required for free custom artrwork.

The organizers assure me that everyone who signed up on their website had to provide a t-shirt size, so I'm not going to bother everyone with that detail--automation has it covered.

Thanks and . . .

WELCOME Deborah! Glad you are going to make it!

I keep checking for the Park-n-Ride locations but don't find it yet. Will post as soon as I find it.

I was just thinking about that, if there would be a bus like last time or if not did we want to meet somewhere and carpool over to where the walk starts. I do remember that parking lot seemed mid-size but definitely would not hold the amount of cars for all the people that were there last time.
Wondered if they didn't have the bus did we want to meet somewhre to carpool over.

I believe I read some where that they will have the bus to the hike but not down off the mountain. I do not remember however that they mentioned sites of pick ups....

I have a required class to take the morning of the walk so I will be unable to walk with the group. I plan to take an afternoon hike to put in the miles to earn the pledges that have been given to me. If someone would like to take my place and join the group just pm me.
Linda
So bummed I will not be joining all of you. Sad

Sorry Linda you will not be able to make it. I was looking forward to seeing you.
Are we getting Pledges as individuals or as a group?

Let me know more about where we will be meeting or carpooling from.
I am planning on heading up to Tempe on Friday the 27 and going to the Desert Botanical Gardens and probably spending the night at a cheap motel near South Mountain.

The Park and Ride location, which is also our meet-up spot, is 212 E Alta Vista Road.

http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&source=s_q&hl=en&geocode=&q=212+E+Alta+Vista+Road,+phoenix,+az&sll=37.0625,-95.677068&sspn=28.805654,50.800781&ie=UTF8&ll=33.391015,-112.070653&spn=0.007399,0.012403&z=16

What say we meet there at 7:00 AM, (I'm open to earlier or later if anyone has strong feelings about it).

I'll pick up the T-shirts and have them there in the parking lot. For you new attendees (Yeaaahhhh!) my car is a blue Ford Explorer. I am not promising cinnamon rolls this year, but it's a possibility.

Any questions, ask or send a PM.

See you there, bring a friend, dog, relative, spouse, etc. It's always a fun day and good exercise, of which I am in dire need.

Eek Shawn, what are you thinking?!?!?! I'm not sure I'll be able to even find the motivation to get out of bed, if there aren't any cinnamon rolls to look forward to!! Sad
