I love lounging at that marina/restaurant after a day of boating. Seems like I heard this is the most expensive wet boat storage in the country. I haven't actually attempted to verify that info. They also have a nice little store. So we would have camping, fishing, boating/rafting (if hank brings his) dining and SHOPPING all in one sweet location. |
Actually Suz, that marina isn't part of the County Lake Pleasant Park area...it's on the opposite side of the dam of where we'd be having to camp (unless you bring a boat ) you'd have to drive out of the park to get to it. _________________ ~Tracy

I have a boat and I can float (see picture to the left..... that is not Lake Pleasant however ).
I really only know 2 people here (Shawn and RedRoxx44) in the flesh.... all the rest I know as very pleasant "cyber people", but I will be on the Lake burning "old winter gas" out of my tank to replace with "new spring gas", and would be willing to do something usefull while doing that.... such as transport folks to the Marina or where ever.
I have been "lurking/peeping" the ArizonaHikers website for a long time, and am surprised that I do not have to pay money. I put my hiking boots on, and spend hours after work, just looking at the galleries with a frosty beverage in hand. This is an excellant site, and I salute the philanthropist who made it all happen for no charge to freeloaders like myself. May many free frosty beverages come your way in the near future.
The Marina has been "face lifted"... is now very nice... I suppose in prep for competition from the new marina going in on the west side. It is a nice place to hangout now... have breakfast, then warm up with coffee, or hot chocolate after running around getting cold using up winter gas, and good for suppers... the food is good, and later in the evenings... listen to live music on Fridays and Saturdays.
Lake Pleasant and nearby has a lot to offer... visitor center for the kids, and associated nature trail, Hells Canyon Wilderness Area nearby (noted for it's wild cattle), OHV trails, and jeep roads, fishing, RV hookups or not, etc... Lake Pleasant is no Lake Powell... only 5 or 6 miles long, but it is close to home, warmer in January, and it is wide, has a large feel to it, and never seems crowded with boats... even though the 10 lane boat launch parking lot may be full at times. |

I forgot you had a canoe! That would be a pile of fun.
My friend Tony is offering to run a boat or two of his at Lake Pleasant depending on what we settle on for dates and location. |

I was hoping to stir the pot up and get a group disagreement. White Tanks! White Tanks! White Tanks!
Just kidding.

Lake Pleasant sounds great. _________________ ~~~Trish~~~

so - swim it is at lake pleasant.... Who is in?
Should be an interesting lot! Perhaps I'll meet you guys somewhere - it's not the swim that is scary but the temperature! _________________ Cheers,

I can't believe it's been a year since I was able to join you all for the last anniversary Shindig. Sure wish I could make it out there again this year. What day are you having it? I will be out there a couple different times in January and then again in February. Maybe I'll be lucky and hit the date!
