Edward Abbey has had previous success in getting one of his books made into a movie. In 1962 his book "The Brave Cowboy" was filmed and renamed "Lonely Are the Brave" starring none other than Kirk Douglas. Douglas later said it was his favorite role. I seem to recall too, that Abbey had a bit part in the movie. |

I secured a tape version of TMWG via inter-library loan and am about finished. I always hear/read something new when I repeat a book. Now I"m not so sure I want a movie of this book: I have my own mental images of it all, especially after having been to many of the places. _________________ The bear went over the mountain to see what he could see. |
