What a smart and simple way to desalinate water. Might not be good for hiking but I'm sure it could be very useful in locations where sea water is plentiful and fresh water is not.

not only that, you could steam vegetables right in the middle while you wait for water!
it looks like several of those would stack together for easy transport, thus giving a nice gallon a day output.
