|
|
The hike...
Superstition Ridgeline.
The stats...
10 Miles, 10 hours, 2820 ft elev. gain
The date....
Oct 25, 2003.
The plan....
Depart early from Carney Springs trailhead (we can either camp or just get there early)
follow ridgeline to Siphon Draw trail, descend, meet shuttle drivers.
Figured the next EPIC should be a bit closer to home, and this one has been on several people's lists for some time (including me).
Certainly all the members of the Arizona Hikers Swim Team are welcome to join in the fun, though I don't expect we'll hear "It's A Swimmer" on this one.
Kent might provide some additional info on the hike regarding its difficulty, he's doing it several times.
So....who's in? |

No... for Kent she is the Enigma known to all others as the Superstitions, the Lady of the Wild, Untamed, and Unknown... She is the allure, the beauty, the spirit that enchants and fanscinates him... She is his Obsession!!
All of those of which I am not. I am simply a mere mortal female that tags along occasionally for as many wonderous adventures and unforgettable journeys as I can. Hiking is one of those "experiences of a lifetime" that I'm thankful that I can participate.

But from now on, anyone who mentions the words "purple", "lace", or any other words that make reference to my derriere... Prepare to be penalized ONE BEER per REFERENCE!! So Sheri, that's one beer you now owe me!!
(I just might like this new Beer foul rule... certainly works in my favor on this website!!) _________________ Blond, James Blond... double "O", uh oh!!

Sid,
The epic hikers mentioned a "ridge runner" and I thought it might have been you. _________________ ~~~Trish~~~

Nah. Sid Hayes is just a myth. What's the matter with you girl?
In fact, Jim is his "begotten" son... well... Kent now falls into that category too. I'm convinced.
You shall burn in heck if you post anything that downplays my hikes/hike times. Or I'll just kill ya.
Ok? |

IN THE BEGINNING.......there was Sid Hayes and the earth was void of hikers, backpackers, mountains and canyons. And Sid said: " Be mountains made" and mountains were made. And he called upon the mountains and said: "let there be canyons made unto these mountains" and canyons were made. Then he made two hikers in his image, JW63 & ArizonaHeat to lead other hikers for 40 years into the desert. We all rejoiced. AMEN. THE END _________________ ~~~Trish~~~

OK so this is the Readers Digest condensed version of the Hiker's Bible and my warped sense of humor coming out.
LOL I had to laugh too as I was typing it!
