The price of National Forest Maps has gone up from $6 to $9 or $10 for a waterproof one. Price increase has gone into effect today.
Unusual but the entire Coconino National Forest Map is available at http://www.fs.fed.us/r3/coconino/maps/index.shtml for free. To download both halves of this map right click on the link in the lower right corner and select “Save target as”. You can then specify where to save it but the entire jpg will come in. So you get 2 - 6.5MB segments which you can zoom in any part of and crop out any part or use a screen capture utility to work with it.
That’s better than the big ugly hard to handle and fold Forest Service Map itself (I think)!!! |

Thanks for the tip on the downloads, Joe. Never saw that before. This will work just dandy. |

Visited the Mesa Rnger District last week, maps are now $ 9. Circle K was selling the Tonto Passes for $ 4 instead of $ 6. |
