Has anyone else tried these?
Pretty darn yummy!
Looks like a shelf life of 7 months, no refrigeration required. Three flavors and they are already cooked. |

I've tried their fish filets and wasn't impressed. Dry and tasteless. _________________ John Richardson and Richie Rich, El Perro de Playero

I think that was the one I tried a couple of months ago. It was a large portion for one person. I made a tri-tip sirloin roast (from Costco) in the dutch oven this afternoon, very good. |

I didn't see a sign-up sheet for this event. I guess I'll go to bed hungry...............................again. _________________ "Your day-glo ballet days are over." Ancient chinese proverb.

You can't really try to cook them. 20 seconds covered in the microwave was all it took. Anything longer would have a bad result. I was thinking that it would be great added to a package of noodles or some other backpacking food. |

You should be plenty used to that Hooli.
At least they weren't crusty and old and curmudgeon fish filets.

I have two CASES of MRE's. That's what happens when you have family in the military, mention you'd like a few MRE's and you'll get two cases. 12 per case.
We just bought that chicken breast in a pouch. I haven't tried it yet. With my undiscriminating pallet it probably would taste fine, but way, way too big, unless I had planned to share meals with another hiker or two. So I wouldn't bring it. I brought that tuna in a pouch on a BP one time. Stinks to high heaven after you open it, and I could only eat about 1/8 of it, so then what do you do with it?
Yup, I first tried to pawn it off on friends, all of whom were vegans or something, and then dug a hole and buried it (not the pouch). Then tried to rinse and wash the pouch, which I then had to store in two ziploc bags because of residual odor. I'll stick with peanut butter, crackers and cupa soups, thank you very much. |

We had that chicken breast added to something on our Grand Gulch trip, and it tasted just fine. I don't have a very discriminating palette however, as I'll often eat cold spam or soup from the package while I'm at work. _________________ Anywhere is within walking distance if you spend the time. |

I eat them all the time. I use them on the trail as well. I just set the packet in boiling water for a few minutes and they are done. I like all the chiken ones. I did not like the tuna ones as much, But the chiken is great. I have an alergy to gluten so most trail foods i can not eat. theese things have been a god send for me. I boil the packet of the chiken and boil one of the uncle bens rice that is already cooked in the same kind of packet and i have a good meal. |
