(OK, I put this post in this forum mainly because it hadn't seen activity in a bit, but also because if we had out dream job, we'd all be a bit healthier mentally I think)
So what would be your Dream Job?
If you didn't have to worry about how much you made, or where you lived, or the hours, or the benefits, what would you do?
I know when I was 12 my dream job was to be a Ninja.
Not so much anymore.
Now my Dream Job would be to own my own outdoor store/outfitter (I'll call it Trailhead) from which I would lead trips, teach outdoor skills such as rock climbing, paddling, hiking/backpacking, etc. I'd have a nice old farmhouse type building right alongside a decent size river, somewhere in the mountains.
That's my dream job...what's yours? _________________ -Colin

I would own a coffee shop! A small personal one where you can get a light meal (light meaning low fat and light weight). I would own the thing but not always nessesarily be responsible for working the counter cause I want to be able to come out from behind the counter and schmoose with my customers, get to know them and their dreams, talk to them.... Maybe even host some Bible studies.
This has been a dream of mine for a long time! Working a high stress job I long for something that doesn't mean that if I mess up I may have hurt some one or made some one sicker.... Some thing where making people happy is what I do and everyone knows the power of a good cup of coffee or a big fat frappachinno!
And a big smile in a place "where every one knows your name"!
Now THATS a dream! _________________ ~~~Diane~~~

I'd have Hooli's job.
Actually - I'd like to be a professor. That is my dream job. _________________ "Only small minds want always to be right."

I'd have to agree with daddee, professor of history is my dream job, thats what I'm in school now to do! Impart knowledge to others in a unversity setting, basically a career learner, writing books, that ought to about cover it. _________________ "In the first place you can't see anything from a car; you've got to get out of the goddamned contraption and walk, better yet crawl, on hands and knees...When traces of blood begin to mark your trail you'll see something, maybe."

Pro baseball player. Centerfield. I can't say anything I do at my current job is as gratifying as winning a world serise, or even a playoff game would be.
And to get paid so well to play a game I love... _________________

I am so happy with what I have so it is my dream job.
What other job lets you end up in a place like THIS with plenty of time to explore it? _________________ Seize from every moment its unique novelty and do not prepare your joys

I'll have to agree with Hooli, but just this once. haha!
I feel I have the dream job right now too.
Diane, if you ever open a coffee shop, count me in as your helper.
My next dream job will be grandma if our daughter ever has children.

My dream job would be to have a group home for adults with Down Syndrome. That has been my desire since I was 9 yrs old. I have had the privilege to work with people with Downs Syndrome. I have also seen how people that are mentally or physically challenged are not always treated with respect. Maybe someday I'll win the lottery and be able to do this. |

I pretty much have my dream job now. I fell in love with computers in college and knew that's what I wanted to do, but got sidetracked for about 15 years in a different field, group insurance. Even during those 15 years, I alway ended up being discovered as the office 'geek' wherever I went. (The best thing about that career was it eventually brought me to Arizona!) For several years, I was in a "Home Office" setting with a major carrier back east, and a large part of my job involved testing and help define projects in the mainframe claims system the company used. But, after 15 years and with the help of a couple of friends, I was able to make the career change and now I'm in a great job, where I sit at the computer all day. It's healthcare related, so my past experience is still an asset. I primarily design the interfaces for an ever growing web-based application, but I also get to do a lot of cool "black ops" projects, like the top secret one I've been working on all day!!!
I do have one other dream job, though. I'd like to be Hooli's boss! _________________ [/size] |

I'd want to be a outdoor writer & photographer. Also, I think it'd be cool to spend a few seasons working for a company like Outward Bound or NOLS. _________________ "Men wanted for hazardous journey.
