Has anyone checked out Google maps lately? Google Maps
They have gotten a lot more detailed since the last time I checked and some updated pictures as well. My house now reflects my pool as opposed to the old one that was at least 2-3 years old.
It even has a little line on the map that shows trails. Checkout the picture at Hermit Rapids.

The trails are actually suprisingly accurate as well. I could follow it about everywhere from Royal Arch all the way to the Little Colorado. Heck it even shows the trail going up the side canyon on the Escalante Route.
It was fun to play around with for a bit and I think it will even help me a bit planning future hikes. |

they seem to be updating more and more often..
Consider also Google Earth. I could spend hours with that one. |

GE is very cool but true map geeks love both.
Tim's Friend - What were you fired for?
Tim - Innapropriate Internet use.
Tim's Friend - You mean like looking at nude pictures or those emails that Hooli sends all of us?
Tim - No, too much mapping Grand Canyon routes.

So how come you just assume that I would be at work at 12:33pm on Wednesday afternoon?
I'm just waiting for the day I log on and try and get onto AZH then I get the dreaded "RED SCREEN". Heck they even blocked HAZ from work! |
