Hi everyone, it's Maggie! I perform with a local company
named Scorpius Dance Theatre and wanted to invite you
all to my upcoming show. My sweetie, JC(LongStoryShort),
George(azhiker96) will be there and Heidi(threedogz) might
be there as well. I would really love it if you could make it.

The information is as follows:

When: Oct 19-21, 26-28 and November 2-4, 2006
Where: Phoenix Theatre Little Theatre
100 E McDowell Rd.- NE corner of Central Ave. and McDowell
(Directions below)
Times: Thursday 7:30pm, Friday and Saturday 7:30 and 9:30pm
Tickets: $20 discounts available (if you wear a costume $5 off)
Box Office: 602-258-1974

Phoenix, AZ – Scorpius Dance Theatre announces the return
of their very own cult classic, A Vampire Tale, October 19-21,
26-28 and November 2-4, 2006, at the Phoenix Theatre's Little
Theatre. It is tersely touted as “the ‘Nutcracker’ of Halloween”
and has become the requisite haunt of the fall season. In its
third year of staging, this ever-evolving, original dance
production comprises a cast of 14 dancers and features
the choreography of Lisa Starry.

Scorpius will once again, lure audiences with its seductive
movement and dynamic plot. The story follows a young
woman who becomes lost, encountering a motley crew of
bloodsuckers. The characters structure an intense spectacle
of dark debauchery while the innocent is both fascinated
and frightened by their underworld.

-If you have any questions do not hesitate to PM me or
simply post on the site. For those who attend, an
awesome "adventure" awaits! Thank you for your
time and hope to see friendly faces in the audience.

The only reason I suggested Durant's was because it was on the "places to dine" in Phoenix site, close to the Little Theatre. I had no idea of the type of a place it was Shocked. I apologize!

There are also plenty of restaurants in the Arizona Center, such as: Uno's, Hooter's, and a Mexican restaurant as well. I've been to Uno's and the Mexican restaurant, they are both great. Very Happy

A few other places noteworthy and not too far from the theatre:

MyFlorist Cafe... pretty good, minus the crowds

Lola... excellent authentic tapas, incredible sangria (to get in the blood drinking spirit)

Cibo... Food is pretty good, but the patio makes everything alright (and it's right next to my future restaurant!)

Barrio Cafe... AMAZING unique mexican experience on 16th St.

Coupe de Tarte... Simply brilliant, a little farther up 16th St.

Fez... Urban setting, sexy food, and just up Central Ave.

Lo Lo... Just south of downtown, but the best fried chicken and waffles EVER! Try the greens.

Just my thoughts from what I've experienced of Phoenix thus far.

Mitch

My apologies for that attempt at humor-it harkens back a long time to a differnet life. Durants is a very nice place, just masculine in decor, and the 48 oz porterhouse is kind of a guy thing too. No one should have any apprehension about going there. I take out of town guests there every few months or so and it's always great. The garlic butter bread is to die for.

Durants is great! And if you've ever been there you'd know exactly the humor Shawn was referring to...it just has that "air" about it. Wink

I hadn't been there in over 21 years (when my grandparents used to winter here annually), but actually went there for lunch today with a group of gals from work (the boss's treat!), and the inside hasn't changed a bit!!!...and the food was still delicious! Mr. Green

The dinner menu is WAAAAAY outta my price range though Whoa! , so I was just gonna skip it as a suggestion.

Just got 4 tickets for opening night for Janet, Sarah, Emily and myself. The girls are excited!

I have eaten at the restaurant Fate mentioned above and found the food to be excellent, however the wait was extensive but that might have been because it was on a "First Fridays" art walk night. Hooli and I made an attempt to eat there once as well but the wait was prohibitive. Anyway just thought I'd mention that the food was great. If you have never had Thai you might want to order something in the medium spice range.

It was an awesome show Maggie! Deanda especially liked the music. I enjoyed the guys working the fabric and the choreography in the dances was excellent! It was also very cool how the dancers/actors set the mood while we were being seated. They were very much in the zone and made several folks a bit nervous. I liked the venue also although my butt almost fell asleep. You and your troupe are very athletic. I will definitely be there next year.
