Just stumbled across this hot deal for those that like M.H. stuff. It seems Mountain House has an "alter ego" called Marine Cuisine.
There are some awesome deals for this stuff straight from the source. Just a slightly different package. As far as I can tell, they are pleated packs just like the Mountain House brand. Obviously not very well known, and don't offer the full line (don't have the chili-mac... wahh), but what the hey? Free shipping too.

Thank you! I find these to be very good traveling/backpacking food. Some I like much better than others but it is not bad at all. This kind of food has come a long way since the '70s. _________________ Seize from every moment its unique novelty and do not prepare your joys

It's really not bad... I agree. If re-hydrated correctly though.
If you don't do it right, it can lead to a pretty noisy night. If you catch my drift... or my waft...

Ya know....if you would just blow the dust off of your dehydrator, you could save yourself some time from searching for ways to save money on that M.H. stuff! _________________ ~Tracy

P, can you really obtain the eat-a-bility with a dehydrator (which after all does not freeze-dry) that you can obtain with the commercial freeze-dried products? Cuz I can't. That's why, after years of dehydrating, I no longer bother. What is your secret?
I also find that some of the cup of soup type products, if they contain beans (I sleep alone) or if combined with a little jerky or a 99 cent bag of freeze-dried shrimp powder from Food City, works just as good for much less than Mountain House, etc. |

Lipton, cooks in N minutes, and a can or pouch of protein. What more do you need? Well, the cheeze cake mix is a pretty dang good treat along about day 3. _________________ The bear went over the mountain to see what he could see. |

I've had some successes and some not so great meals from my dehydrator...it varies. maybe I'm just not a very picky eater! _________________ ~Tracy

We had some of the Rasberry crumble in Death Valley and it was pretty darn good. Normally we have some chocolate moose or the like from some other brand for desert but that was pretty good. The Spagetti is good. There are several more that we always take. Gotta have some hot chocolate every night and we found a gormet suite of them at The Summit Hut that is bloody supreme. I'm not knocking Swiss Miss but this stuff is to die for. _________________ Seize from every moment its unique novelty and do not prepare your joys

You have to order over $50 worth I think. I guess I forgot that little tidbit of info. Sorry doods.
At that price, how could you not? I ordered a bunch. Guess the next best deal is the 10# drums of the stuff.
Hope this deal lasts for a while. Thanks to me, probably not. |
