Spent several days camping at Dead Horse State Park located in Cottonwood. The park served as my base camp as I mtn. biked and hiked several of the trails from the park and the nearby area and I was able to bike ride and hike at night and I was also able to observe several skunks, raccoons, ducks (One thing I learned, don't wake sleeping ducks) and a fox. It costs $ 12.00 a night or $ 19.00 if you want a site with electric hookups and there also shower facilities at the park.Lots of interesting places to visit nearby as well. |

I spent a weekend up there as well...really enjoyed the trails for mtn biking....plus the Verde was flowing like mad, so we explored that area a bit...great area. _________________ -Colin
