Yea - the navy Trainer - that's what I always see out there. Love the sound of that engine - raw power.

Over at the confederate air force at Falcon field they will also occasionally fly thier B-17G "Sentimental Journey" and that is pretty impressive as well. They also have a B-25 that I've seen fly 3 times. I also saw when they flew their MiG 16 in - that thing is LOUD.

There are half a dozen AT-6's registered in Maricopa County. The most likely N number is 3198G. If so, I can tell you who owns it. If not, get me an N number - even a partial N number - and I'll cross check it.

That big old Pratt & Whitney reciprocating engine was quite a power plant in its day.

It's an SNJ5. Didn't get the N number yet.

I noted the P-38 and P-51 depicted were two seaters, I would love to go up in them. I have rode in a AT-6A it was a very great time, flow out of Coolidge Airport quite some time ago.

My first small plane ride was in an open pit Stearman Trainer, just canvas and aluminum and that radial engine up front. Painted like a John Deere.

While I am a former civilian/commercial pilot, I just don't appreciate ultra-wealthy ($300/per hour op costs) dudes rapping the mufflers of a 1200+ HP P/W engine (1340+ cubic inches) of their hyper-expensive toys over canyons in which I like to find beauty and solitude.

I may go check with this guy and knock on his door. After that it's the FAA.

Roger that, bro! Smile

The FBO's (Fixed Base Operators) at Falcon Field know who's doing what. He's going to have to behave...

It is amazing where some of the threads take the topic to. As a matter of fact I was thinking of the army issue can opener. It is paper thin and can be a life saver.

I own a P-38. It is on my key chain. Don't quite remember why I put it there not opening any cans either... But the sharp pointy edge could be a be a little weapon or used functionally in some other way. There was a reason I put it there at one time. Hmmm
