Sport Chalet is opening a new store at Happy Valley Rd. and I-17 and they're looking to fill openings immediately!

These folks will be giving REI and Sportsman's Warehouse a good run for their money, this would be a good starting opportunity for a fellow gearhead.

Interested folks should check it out. If you go, tell Messami hello.

I went and checked out the Sports Chalet's Grand Opening at Happy Valley/I-17. Looks nice, has some potential. I wish they had the tents set up on the ground and not up by the rafters as that is what I wanted to look at. The things advertised on sale were already sold out at 1:00pm when I got there.

I did pick up a Princeton Tec EOS LED Headlamp on sale for $29.95 they are $38.95 at REI.

If you haven't seen one of these in action, they are bright, the new standard for what a headlamp should be. 96.9 foot candles compared to 14.6 for the Petzl Tikka Plus 4 Led lamp which I currenty had. It does weigh about 3/4 oz more though Smile

The 2 People I did talk to in hiking/camping section were not very knowledgable at all. I was teaching them things about the stoves and cold weather/high altitude use.
