Well, I thought it was time for a long walk. And this trail fit the bill for something that ain't gonna kill my healing foot and knee. Everthing was blooming, barrel cactus, prickly pear, ocotilla and morning glory ( i think)
I saw my first snake, it was about a foot long ,light tan with black lines. Aren't those desert geckos cute? I started out 124th street and only went within a mile of 104th street. My dogs were just too tired. It was pretty warm, so I went through my 64 oz camelbak 1/2 hour before I got back to the Jeep. The only thing I didn't like to see was the new development being built, but it was a good workout and didn't see a soul after the first 2 miles, funny how that works. For my first time in the McDowell's I think I did pretty good. The Sonoran Preserve is free for now, so I'm pretty sure I'll be back to start from 104th street next time!
