let's put together a group hike at either Secret or Boynton Canyon out of Sedona on April 5 or 6

Secret canyon definitely requires high clearance vehicle and I personally wouldn't want to drive the family sedan on the road to the trailhead.

Vote for your preference!
This poll will run until April 1

I can't make it either day. I am available the 12th of April though.

I might be able to make it on the 12th. I'm taking the day off work because I have tentative plans, but if a good hike comes up, I'll abandon the other plans!!
Any ideas, Kristyn?

Secret Canyon on the 5th sounds great! I'll have my stitches out by then and my bruises will all be healed -- maybe this time I can finish the one hike with you guys without any falls! Anyone going up the night before? Rolling Eyes Exclamation Question Exclamation

OK, thought I sent this, but don't see it so I'll try again.
Since my stitches will be out by then and all bruises and scraps healed! Mr. Green I'd love to try Secret Canyon on the 5th, I'm bound to be able to complete one hike with you folks without a fall! Rolling Eyes Exclamation Question Exclamation

Sorry to screw up the plans, but there's an eight year old Basenji boy waiting for me in Sacramento, CA: http://rescue.norcalbasenjis.org/ty.html
So I'm loading up the motorhome and Dew and I are gonna go get her a new big brother. Even if I get back by next Saturday, there's now way I can go off and leave him alone in a new home.

I want to try Secret Canyon on the 5th! (Yes, I influenced CatValet's vote) Is that the place where there were stories of helicopters and guys in camoflage turning people away? Heard that awhile back and can't remember what place it was in reference to.... No, I don't see pink elephants Rolling Eyes ... honest, I heard it about some place

I thought you hid that bottle...

I believe Nighthiker can fill us in on the whereabouts of that place with the helicopters, etc. Secret Canyon was the subject of an article in Backpacker(?) a few years ago, the gist of it was a hidden UFO base inside Secret Mountain, I believe. Beam me up

In spirit it'll have to be. I'm at Daughter & SIL's new house in Concord, CA. Had a safe but tiring trip. Just gonna loaf around here today, then tomorrow, Dew and I will head for Sacramento to meet TY. Will spend Friday bonding with Ty and watching my kid try to keep up with my grandkid. Grandpa's revenge! Hee! Hee! Hee! Multi Once he's totally excited and fully wound, I'll leave for home Saturday a.m., arriving Sunday afternoon. Will be sticking pretty close to home 'til Ty gets settled in. I'm told he's a little overweight from overeating in his former home and not getting enough excercise. Lots of long walks with me and Dew will take care of that.

Have a good time all. I'm in that not physically well enough to go but emotionally ready to do it all. My final post op exam is the 23rd. I 'm sure I'll be more than ready by then. I'm sure someone will come up with something awesome.

Randy, take your pickup! High clearance a must. And yes, you need Red Rock Passes.
