let's put together a group hike at either Secret or Boynton Canyon out of Sedona on April 5 or 6

Secret canyon definitely requires high clearance vehicle and I personally wouldn't want to drive the family sedan on the road to the trailhead.

Vote for your preference!
This poll will run until April 1

Sunday's are out for me, so April 5th gets my vote. Secret Canyon is awesome, and there will likely be snow when you get back past the gorge. The red rocks in the creek with snow capping them will keep your camera busy!

Not sure that I'd be able to make it. That is the weekend of a Worldwide conference for my church (not normally something I would miss). But I sure would like to do this hike.

Both trails are quite easy with little elevation gain; clearly the attraction is the scenery. Secret Canyon is approx. 10 miles R/T and Boynton 5 miles R/T.

Oh great... Something to look forward to!! Thanks a lot. If everyone chimes in with their comments, we might need to start a new thread under the Off Trail section. And by the time everyone is done, there might not be any room for my avatar at all!!

I think we'll be up in that general area, my buddy will be in town from Chicago, so we'll be camping, either in the Catalinas or between San Fransico Peaks and the canyon...but I couldn't commit to the hike...have fun though!
