Is that what they think caused the Sunset Pointe fire-- cigarette butts?

There's so much going on I haven't been able to keep up on all the fires and causes.

Yes

Just dragged myself home after my business trip to Portland . Flew by company shuttle so the route was different than t the usual commercial trips...

Was treated to a wonderful early morning light over many parts of the Grandcanyon...it was quite the sight to be at 15K ft catching morning glow spread across the canyon Spinning ..What a way to start the day! Sublime indeed...

Well on the way back I got a bird's eye view of all the fires in the area....; most of them were showing flames and seemed quite active ... Shocked

MOther Nature gives ..... There was the awesome flowershow of spring; the verdant green hills..and the golden meadows and and she takes back ....and now the smouldering fields and the hazy smoke casting an eerie curtain over the area....

Well put too! Your words inspire a desert painting of a different kind but it's all nature.

Earth perhaps obtained balance until mankind appeared and chaos became the norm.

Are you folks prepared for an emergency ?
Evacuation, utility shutdown etc.

Never really thought that far in advance since I live on the West side, but anything is possible as I see from all this.

Nice post to warn us. Think ahead which may not be that far ahead now.

Driving home today I couldn't see any smoke on the south side of the supes. I wonder if that means the fire burnt itself out? (why don't we have an emoticon with it's fingers crossed?)

We were driving south on the 101 from Snottsdale to Tempe this afternoon. Didn't look like any smoke out in the Supes to us, either. Maybe rain put it out. When we first got on the 101 from 56th Street, we had a good view of the smoke from the Cave Creek Complex. Neutral

Do you know where exactly this fire is located? The SWCC site says this:

Quote:
BOULDER (250 acres, 80% contained) is smoldering and crews are monitoring it.
BOULDER is 8 miles east of Apache Junction in Tonto National Forest.[/b]
