A vaccine is now available! Two injections 30 days apart and an annual booster give the dog protection of having three vials of anti-venom already in it. My vet, Arrow Animal Hospital at 52nd and Thunderbird, will be getting the vaccine in later this week and I've already made arrangements to have Rich vaccinated. Once I know the cost I'll post it here; I've heard $30 per injection.

I can do those one at a time but don't go expecting me to be greeting you with a friendly sniff.
Woof.

This has been in development for a few years. A vet friend of mine had said she didn't think it would ever make it to the market or be worth while. I'll have to re-ask her opinion. _________________

It figures they would test it in Califorweirdna first. I emailed the company to ask about human studies in the works. We'll see what they say.
