I haven't been able to access HAZ today at all either. Has anybody been able to get on HAZ today? _________________ Our lives are not determined by what happens to us but by how we react to what happens, not by what life brings to us, but by the attitude we bring to life. |

Same as you guys, I haven't been able to access it. The page doesn't even load at all when I type in the address. _________________ "In the first place you can't see anything from a car; you've got to get out of the goddamned contraption and walk, better yet crawl, on hands and knees...When traces of blood begin to mark your trail you'll see something, maybe."

Ok, so HAZ is down already. I'll have to keep checking back though. Looks like I'm back to this site again. _________________ "IRONMAN" cometh, hiketh, destroyeth |

Well ironman, if and when HAZ comes back up, nothing wrong with visiting both sites on a regular basis. _________________ John Richardson and Richie Rich, El Perro de Playero

There really are quite a lot of hiking sites out there with good info. Just have to learn to do your own searches! |

What did they take from HAZ?

You know the answer to that.

When did the NF change their minds about their info being in the public domain?

They haven't, but neither have they changed their mind about whoever takes the information citing the source. I never saw one indication on their site that the information came from anywhere else. Haz used NF info on some trail descriptions, and it was clearly indicated in those instances where the information was from. _________________ [/size] |

But this place feels like home now, and the folks here feel like family. I personally would like to stick it out here and see what all of us can do with this site. Not to outdo HAZ, but to build our own unique corner of the web! |
I'm in total agreement. At first it was a little confusing - but I think that was more from the surreal experience of having accepted that something that has supposedly gone for good has suddenly come back. (akin to seeing my dead grandpa walk into the room - not quite on that level, but you get the idea).
Then I realized that THIS is home, my new home. I moved here from HAZ - although I didn't need a moving truck. I will use HAZ for as long as it is useful for trail descriptions and so forth - but this is my home and I'm going to spend my time and effort making this a better place to be. No knock on HAZ - I'm sure it's still the fine place it has always been - but I'm more a part of this site now, and I'm going to keep it that way. _________________ "Only small minds want always to be right."
