I'm still in and it looks like transport isn't a problem. A quick count shows 12 hikers plus one muddy dog if everyone including "not sures" go and 5 4X4 vehicles. So it looks like plenty of coverage is there for rides. Looking forward to it. I wouldn't mind starting earlier if there was a concensus for it (6:30-7:00a?) but also am fine with 8am too.

Early is fine with me, we always try to be at the trailhead by daybreak, but whatever works for everyone else will work for me.

Yes it is indeed shaping up to be a beautiful weekend weather wise.

Getting to the trailhead should be no problem as with this slow soaking rain the large washes have seen very little to no flow at all.

Friday at 915am I spoke with the wilderness ranger about the road in. The information was non-conclusive. He was more concerned about the condition of the road in, I was concerned that the creek crossings might be flooded, based on what we have seen in town.

The bottom line is, we don't know. It all comes down to what happens today. If the rain has ended, we're ok. If we get significantly more, we need to go north to the apache side TH. I'll keep checking. For now, I'd assume we are still go for at least a look-see at the road in to Rogers.
I'll post again in the pm.

Yes - I hope everyone is healthy soon too. And I agree - the tot shares his germs with us freely and frequently. He's so generous..... Rolling Eyes

hey, I did that hike on Dec. 20 and there was snow all the way from windy pass to the gap fork, although I took the Reavis TH*road* . Hope y'all have fun, and watch out for the mud, it gets kinda heavy. Wish I could go, but just got a shot of cortisone in my right foot.

So folks, are we on?

Are we meeting at day break or 8am. I kinda prefer 8. But, I am flexible.

Plus, when will we decide to come in from the North or from the South?.

I'm not rushing for any kind of decision. I just like to have a handle on the itinerary.

The weather looks perfect for the weekend!

Thanks, John
