Ok, I have a suggestion (Mike, GTG). Would it be possible to have some sort of 'book gallery' here on the site for easy reference to good reading? Everyone here always has great suggestions of good books and everytime I go to find the info I spend alot of time scrolling thru threads trying to find posts. Maybe just something simple, a listing with the title of the book and the author and perhaps a brief description of the contents or a review. Maybe sort of like the photo gallery, we could add it ourselves. No need for photos or anything, maybe just an alphabetical listing or a listing by type of activity or something..... Of course, it should be limited just to books on hiking, backpacking, outdoors, etc. so it doesnt get too crazy.
Just a thought, so handing it off to you! _________________ And this our life, exempt from public haunt,

Yes .... I would like that --- Especially if we can get a good collection of obscure but excellent references! _________________ Photos: http://www.pbase.com/desertgirl/galleries

I think it's a great idea for the books and the eats places. I would add it but Mike is the master with that stuff. How about 'Recommended Readings' it could be another section oin the board and it could be divided into what categories? Hiking\Backpacking, Camping, Food, Climbing, Other Outdoor Activities, etc. The recommended eating spots - Grub Joints? What do y'all think?

I suggest a History category for the book section. _________________ The bear went over the mountain to see what he could see. |

What fields should be included? Title, author, published date, review, rating. Anything else? What categories? _________________ [/size] |

History, guide books, campfire stories, biographical, nature, photography--maybe tips and coffee table like books, archaeology---
A short blurb re description - like 25 words or less.

I think title and author primarily, you can find most any book with that. Maybe the source (to buy, borrow) if known, in or out of print . . . . _________________ The bear went over the mountain to see what he could see. |
