I know this conflicts with the GHOTM for Oct but I'm not up for a 14 miler just yet (still recouping from having a baby). Anyway here's the scoop...
Oct 2nd and 3rd - meeting in Ftn Hills then driving up to the White Mtns. area for a day hike probably along the Thompson Trail then on to find a camping spot along the FR near the TH for Escudilla. Hike Escudilla on Sunday morning then back to the valley along which ever scenic route you decide. I'm really hoping to enjoy some fall colors this year and I heard Escudilla is the place. This is a totally family friendly and dog friendly hike, neither trail is more than 7 miles rt. Email me if you are interested.

We saw dogs on the Thompson Trail last weekend. Just kept the one with us on a leash. _________________ The bear went over the mountain to see what he could see. |

Thompson looks like a great place for dogs. Of course it will be a bit chilly in Oct. for them to get wet....
I hadn't planned on bringing mine for this trip. They are both older and I don't think they could make it up Escudilla. _________________ Jamie
