Was going to spend it up in the White Mountains, but because of closures decided against that. Probably do a day trip up north somewhwere and then come back to Phoenix for fireworks. Last year spent the 4th. on the North Rim, great time, maybe next year.

Hey, has anyone ever been up to Prescott for the "Frontier Days" celebration? I hear the fireworks are worthwhile - any recommendations for fireworks displays up at elevation?

Caleb LOVES fireworks and I don't want to disappoint him - but I also don't want Marci to melt in the heat.

Suggestions?

Tubing down the Salt River. I used to tube down the Apple River in Wisconsin, but that isn't doable anymore, so I switched to the Salt River. Been tubing over the Fourth weekend for the past nine years. It turned into a tradition. Mr. Green The tradition grew into getting pizza at the Euro pizza place in Fountain Hills after the tubin'. Pizza tastes pretty dang good after a few brews on the water and a sunburn! Embarassed

The frontier days in Prescott are a blast. I have been up there many times, my mom lives up there. The rodeo is alot of fun, as is the parade, although they have banned the water balloons and water cannons the floats used to soak the crowd with due to the drought.

As to where to see the fireworks, i have only watched from my mom's house. So i cannot suggest anything, but give the weekend down there a shot, it is a good time.

Hmmm my option wasn't there. I'm actually heading *into* the city to get away from all the tourists. I need to get my urban fix ... nightlife, traffic, and trader joe's.

Oh, yea - and they're opening an AJ's out in the East Valley on Val Vista and Baseline - less than 3 miles from home!

Marci will be very upset at all of the fun foods I'll be buying from them.

She buys clothes, I buy food. It all works out in the end.

I have one of each on my way home from work! They're doing some remodeling of AJ's at Lincoln and Snobbsdale Road.

Diane, isn't there a Sprouts on your side of town?
