Will Bresnan has it down to a science... his knowledge and experience in the world of comfortable and safe ultralight hiking is displayed on his latest website http://home.bresnan.net/~swultralight/index.htm
If you are at all interested in hiking super light (its real fun, folks) there are a variety of ways to do it!!
Now, keep in mind that a 30 pound pack could and will be considered ultra light if the person carrying said pack is 240 lbs... On the other hand I prefer to carry <20 pounds and my latest full featured comfortable trip was 12-13, including 2 days food and 2 quarts of water at a time. Anyway, check out this site that is a wealth of information, you wont be dissapointed! _________________ http://www.arizonahikers.com/board/albums/albwb18/BRIDGE.sized.jpg
