I love the idea. One point to kick around. Consider timing the charity event at another time than the holiday season. Perhaps before the start of the school year? At the start of summer break when a single working Mom doesn't know what she is going to do with her children? Folks have needs year 'round and while I realize that donations will never match needs, there is already quite a bit going on during the holiday season. It almost seems like feast or famine to me. Anyway, just food for thought. I'm in regardless of how the final plan shapes up.
I like the thought 'At the start of a summer break when a single working mom doesn't know what she is going to do with her children'. This is something highly overlooked. Not everyone trying to put themselves and their children in a better position has the support of family, friends, or the government. I know how hard it is. I'd love to help make the road to independance easier for someone.

This is a great idea ---

Great idea, Mickey!! Although I am a newcomer to the site, I have already made some friends through here and really appreciate this wonderful community. I feel at home. I also have participated in charitable volunteer activities in the past and there is no greater reward in life than to help someone in need. Count me in to help any way I can.
