I'm thinking of heading up to Spur Cross Ranch tomorrow and hiking the Elephant Mountain Trail. Anyone want to join me? It wouldn't be a very early start, I'm thinking about 9:00 to 9:30. I'll send directions for a meeting spot to anyone interested. The hike is 10 miles round-trip, rated strenuous. There's a $3 per person fee to get in to Spur Cross.

I was there on Monday the 19th and it was really a great day. I don't think it'll be strenuous for most of the hikers on this site, but it's a pretty much uphill trek to the saddle.Didn't do to the end because of the steep downhill there.(knees).Enjoy! (Oops-raining in Scottsdale pretty heavy now-guess I'll go to home Depot rather than Quail Ridge.)  |
