Hey all,
If anyone is interested, I have just made it to Cascade Locks, Oregon - right on the border with Washington state (though my journal is still behind). This has been an unbelievable trip so far.
The highlights of Oregon - Crater Lake, Mt. Jefferson, Mt. Hood, and Eagle Creek - have all been spectacular!
even so, I'm missing Arizona.
Happy hiking ..

Congrats so far. Just about every Sunday mornin I get up, grab a cup of coffee and read your journal. Have enjoyed it immensely. Being from Oregon myself and having visited those spots you just spoke about, I look forwarded to hearing how the trail goes.
Take care out there

Way to go! Sounds like so much fun! That 40 mile hike is insane! Was that in 24 hours Jogging/running?

Pretty sure he isn't running any trails. If I had to guess it's just sunrise to sunset hiking, I know he's an early riser and gets packed up QUICK. It's about 14 hours of daylight and probably doing a 3 MPH average. |

Apparently Tommy ran into this guy and and his partner in Washington (I think).
They started when Tommy was already 700 miles into the PCT.
Sounds like they don't mess around. |

I think they are trying to break the unassisted speed record that is something like 67 days. Usually, a hiker takes 4-5 months to complete the PCT. 67 days?!
Im wondering when Tommy gets back what he plans to do next. It would be interesting if he chose the C2C or the European tracks.
The AZT is always a choice, but man it sure is a hard one even at only 800 miles.
Id have to join him for a week or 2 on the AZT. There's a bunch of trail south of Tucson I need to see (hint hint tommy) _________________ http://www.arizonahikers.com/board/albums/albwb18/BRIDGE.sized.jpg
