I got the Paria map and on the map it shows several mileage markers. Are those actually there, or are they just a reference for the map. They are on the map as if they actually exist, but I've day hiked there a lot and can't recall ever seeing a marker? _________________

No milage markers -- I have hiked the entire length and we did not see any. Best bet is knowing landmarks -- Some of them are very definitive so its fairly easy to keep track. _________________ Photos: http://www.pbase.com/desertgirl/galleries

Thanks. One person I talked to thinks they are there, but hidden.
I'd think it would be hard to miss them in the narrows? _________________
