Las Vegas Valley is now white and full of smoke from wildfires created in California. This has become the norm for summers in the Valley. Thank goodness for the mountain. _________________ "Surely all God's people, however serious or savage, great or small, like to play. The sunsets the past 2 days have been quite an event due to the haze. _________________ Photos: http://www.pbase.com/desertgirl/galleries

Neat photo. No fires up here right now that I know of. We've had a little rain. There was a fire somewhere down in the lower elevations of the Blue, between Hannagan and Clifton, last week, but I believe it's mostly out now. I do believe this area is going to make it to monsoon without any major fires. That big May snowstorm was a significant help. There is still snow above 9,000, in patches, left over from the awesome winter we had.
Isn't it interesting that northern California is so very dry, and had a pretty dry winter, but just to the north of there in Oregon and Washington they had one of the wettest winters ever? Usually N. Cal. gets some of that rain, but I guess this year most of the storms just didn't drop to the south at all. |

Queen Creek is far enough east that it may as well be the mid-west. _________________ "Your day-glo ballet days are over." Ancient chinese proverb.
