1-2 packets of Italian salad dressing and any dehydrated veggie you have in store. 1 package of raman noodles and a freezer baggie. Crunch the noodles in the bag add the veggies (I like a lot of veggies) and cover with water. Allow mixture to soak while you hike. When you stop to eat you dump out the water left after an hour or so of soaking and add the dressing. I like to add some parmasean cheese at the end before eating as well. Yummy stuff! We always have dehydrated veggies in the freezer and keep a stock of dressings from Minimus so this one is an easy one to put together. That is the basic recipe.... use your imagination from there.... change the dressing use different veggies hold the cheese add spices....add beans for protein. OH! We tend to add some TVP also to add protein. Try in Ambika! It's good stuff!
We have started taking dehydrated meals for lunch too as they are a lot lighter than T&T _________________ ~~~Diane~~~

What??? Nobody heard of PB&J burritos? All the calories, the right carb/prot/fat mix and invokes childhood memories! And the tortillas pack really flat... _________________ I see my path, but I don't know where it leads. Not knowing where I'm going is what inspires me to travel it.

yep, Diane's got the "recipe"!
PB&J burritos are yummy for day hikes, but tortillas are pretty heavy if you're doing a multiday trip and taking a whole pack of them. _________________ ~Tracy

Thanks Diane -- I will give this a try. TnT is wearing thin -- My adventures with PBJ ended up with J getting everywhere but they sure are yummy and make a great trail meal
Wonder if wheat ramen that is low fat will rehydrate/taste as good _________________ Photos: http://www.pbase.com/desertgirl/galleries

Not sure, try it at home first so you don't get stranded out there with an icky mushy mess when you are starving to death on the trail! _________________ ~~~Diane~~~

I have a raman noodle salad that I was planning on making on the Arizona Cooks night. Mine is closer to a type of slaw salad. I mix everything and mix the dressing separate, then put the two together right before I eat it. I also add cold chicken. It's very yummy.
