Anyone have any info on flowers anywhere? Any sightings in the Supes,Siphon Draw, etc? Hoped we'd have some even though the rains came late. I read that Boyce Thompson has some blooming, but haven't been out lately.

The most I have seen on my journeys so far, has been on the Bush Highway above Saguaro Lake, on our way back from our Browns Peak hike. Desert Poppies.

The wildflowers on the Haunted Canyon end of the Supes were widely scattered and stunted.

Unfortunately we will not be getting that drop dead, knock out display of a few years ago when the desert floor was carpeted with wildflowers, like it is with green now.

Some of the cacti are also blooming now.

Patches and I are planning a trip to Lost Dutchman State Park Thursday in hopes of seeing wildflowers.

For a look at unspoiled desert and a variety of wildflowers, check out Harquahala Peak from the north side. You won't likely see big fields of flowers, but you will certainly see many species including mariposa, globemallow, chia, heliotrope, Mexican poppies, verbena, brittlebush, fleabanes, paintbrushes, and of course lupines. In addition, you'll see a veritable forest of ocotillos as well as many cactus flowers like hedgehogs, cholla, beavertail, and prickly pear. I've never seen so many different flowers in one place before. And the best part is, the desert is absolutely pristine.
