Like Diane said, you have to ask the questions. The people who have answered your questions thus far actually own 1/4 of the worlds total count for outdoor recreational products. Razz

Annie, you may want to actyually try putting your pad in the bag and sleeping that way, Big Agnes brand or not. It Will keep you from rolling off of your pad in the night as many first timers will do. With your small stature I'm sure that there will be plenty of room for your pad and you in your bag. Some will refute this advice but you will have to experiment on your own in the living room or in the field. It has worked for me in the past.

You must remember me - Thanks! Do you have a pad that you would reccomend? I'm off on a hike again today, but just a short one - I also may be thinking of purchasing a one-man tent because the one that I was going to borrow is in pretty bad shape.

Yep, I remember. I would recommend any of the blow-up Big Agnes pads. Someone on here may even be able to loan you one possibly.

As far as one person tents go, that new REI Quarter Dome T1 looks pretty dandy and has a good price at $179.00.

I'm cutting down on tents, got rid of one last month and working an ANOTHER as I sit here: hmm that seller looks familiar.

Down to the Black Diamond Lightning, a Tarptent Contrail, a Sierra Designs BAKU 3 (Car Carping probably) and MikeInFHAZ tarp.

See almost out of tents now Smile

Now Tim won't need to pack any clothes to backpack. The tarp can serve as a shirt and shorts.

Go Tim!

I've have been fortunate so far, that i have gotten by with a tarp and mat pad, that is if you dont mind the critters scampering over you in the night and the weather is decent. although for extending camping, a tent might be useful.

I beg to differ sir---quite possibly the best superhero outfit to impress the ladies is to wear British speedo's with a blonde wig. Do you have those pics Toddy? I still haven't seen them---I have no shame so if you feel like posting--go ahead.
