Woke up the day after Christmas just in time to see thiese in my parent's yard. These were taken out the windows. There were over 20 of them. They started out in the backyard, wandered around one side of the house to the front, then eventually over to a neighbor's yard. We pulled into their driveway Christmas Eve and counted seven deer in the front yard. It was too dark for photos, and they took off pretty quickly anyway. My folks live on four acres in a mostly rural area in upstate South Carolina, so this is a pretty common occurrence for them.

Laughing

We have lot of those guys around here. Something unusual, a flock of them has taken up residence near Water Canyon Road just a mile south of Eagar, and I have seen them several times in the past couple of weeks when driving by. Usually they are further up in the forest. It is very common to see them along the back roads near Hannagan Meadow.

If Ben Franklin had his way, it'd be our national bird instead of the bald eagle...

Ben Franklin did have his way! the only dude to make a federal reserve note that never served as US president. Shocked
back in the 80's when I was in my late teen years I drove the Rim rd (300) end to end, and when I saw a gaggle of 5-6 turkeys I immediatly thought to myself: "what the hell are peacocks doing way out here" oh the naivety of youth.

Back in the 80s I was hiking the Grand Canyon. I saw Wild Turkey down there too. A lot. Razz

Back in the 80's I ate a peacock, and I thought "man, this turkey rocks!"

I'm kidding! I knew it wasn't a turkey.
