Three of us did this Oct. 6, 7 & 8. It's a hard place to get to, but worth it at least once. This one has been on my list for a long time; now it's done.

Looks like a neat trip. Peaks my interest, I used to love walking along miles of gulf coast beaches when I lived in Florida.
Thanks for the cave---did ya check it out??? _________________ You can rest when you're dead |

I've not walked here Shawn but I've walked miles on the Red Wood coast in parts of Northern California and in Oregon. One of highest on my list is to walk the Olympic Peninsula.

I've walked plenty of beaches in Florida too. Some you have to work at to walk....but that's another thread. |

Just saw the pictures, never heard of the trail until you mentioned it. Do you have a good link for info on it? Whereabouts in California is this? I love the ocean, but can definitely see where walking in sand for days would tire quickly. |

Google gets you a gazillion articles. This one:

is a quite detailed "how to."
It's west of Garberville. There isn't much close. I believe Eureka is to the north. _________________ The bear went over the mountain to see what he could see. |

Once you get above Marin County just across the bay from San Francisco, the north coast of California is pretty sparsely populated. Only coastal towns of any size at all are Fort Bragg and Eureka. Beautiful country! _________________ John Richardson and Richie Rich, El Perro de Playero

Yeah that certainly is difficult to get to. Google says only 15 hour drive though. Might need to add that place onto the "list". |
