Went out in the desert SE of Florence Jct. last night. Observed a lot of lightning down by the North end of Tucson area. The cloud lightning would light up the cloud, very large and high, must have been a strong local storm.

Heard that the monsoon officially started in Tucson as of yesterday. We had a wind up here on the Kaibab, and then...dying down. We had two of the three days of 55%. Its been dry since, but cloudy.

It rained for half and hour at the least last night with heavy thunder and some super lightening. Everything was washed down clean. The previous rains in the week have been 5 minutes or less. We have entered the summer rainy season and I hope it proves to be a good one.

Ain't it great! The meadows are already greening up, the forest floor is really lush and the Apache Goldens are bitin' at Lee Valley res.

I'm in DC this week. Yesterday and today we had strong. loud, wet storms. I was on the phone and the thunder was so loud it drowned out the conversation and was audible on the other end.

I was temporarily stuck in Regan airport in DC yesterday. Thunderstorms and lightning. As our prop plane landed we had to sit on runway for 30 minutes before we could taxi in due to lightning. Heard some of those loud thunder claps Shawn mentioned. Wished we could have had some of that rain here .... we need the rain but not the lightning.
